As a BFA ceramic candidate at Tyler School of Art, Kieun Song primarily works with porcelain and the unity that clusters and multiplicity can form. Beside clay, she utilizes light in her work as an additional medium to evoke a sense of both calm and drama.

She believes that every artist redefines the medium in their own way, it is a subjective matter. For her she is present in the moment, and it is a task that clears her mind.

When Kieun creates, she thinks about transferring the serene atmosphere she feels when making to the viewer. In that way they too can set up their own form of escapism by sharing the bonds of the process behind the art.
